Green Tea Seed Hair Oil will be available for order on Thursday, December 26 at 12:00 p.m.

We are thrilled to welcome entrepreneur and model Rola to our exciting new project! Across Japan, the aging population of farmers and the younger generation’s move away from agriculture have become pressing issues, leading to an increase in abandoned farmland with various impacts. In particular, the Tashiro area of Kinko Town in Kagoshima Prefecture once cultivated 119 hectares of tea fields until 2014. However, with the decline in tea consumption and tea leaf prices, abandoned farmland has been on the rise. As a result, tea fields that should have been pruned are now left with a large amount of unused tea seeds.

In response, kiiks has teamed up with Rola to develop a special hair oil using these tea seeds. This eco-friendly oil combines tea seed oil with camellia oil from Sakurajima, and is blended with sandalwood and jasmine essential oils to create a soothing aroma. That was how the ‘Green Tea Seed Hair Oil’ was born. This product not only nurtures beautiful hair but also contributes to solving local challenges, making it a win-win item. We invite you to give it a try!

The kiiks Satsuma Tsuge comb, artfully crafted by Mr. Kihara, is made using Satsuma Tsuge that has been cultivated over several decades in Kagoshima. It is created by artisans who have inherited traditional techniques. This comb is beautifully durable and will last for years to come.
Beloved since ancient times, the Tsuge comb features smooth gliding that does not damage the hair and provides gentle, moderate stimulation to the delicate scalp.
Each comb is handmade using natural Tsuge wood, so there may be slight variations in shape and color compared to the photos.
Additionally, there may be unique small spots or lines, as well as color irregularities inherent to Tsuge wood.
The production of Satsuma Tsuge combs requires high skill, while also embodying the warm feelings of the local people. These combs are carefully crafted by skilled artisans and continue to be cherished by many as lifelong items. However, this precious traditional craft is currently facing the challenge of a shortage of successors, making it urgent to cultivate the next generation of artisans. Satsuma Tuge combs are important items that connect a long history and culture to the future, while being a part of daily life and hair care.

kiiks sincerely hopes that we can spread the wonderfulness of Satsuma Tsuge combs and create opportunities to preserve this traditional craft.
